Status Report

I can now say, officially, that I have 18 of 24 pages of Pizza Wizard #2 completed to the point that I don't have to look at them again until I start scanning (not including bottom strips). Well, maybe 18 1/2. This is pretty embarrassing because I was planning on it being finished by Christmas, and now I doubt it'll even be done by my birthday...maybe by the very beginning of April? Who knows.
I'm already having the same trouble I had last time that, because I use microns (and I use them so lightly), a large portion of lines just totally drop out upon file formatting. To give you an idea, the trees in the strip above had shading covering them completely. I can't tell if it's truly detrimental, or if it isn't really a big deal. I'm guessing the latter.

"Dubs Absoludicrous"

...is the name of the not-yet-released, one-sided LP from Bromp Treb, AKA Mr. Kayleen, Neel Young, Neener Neener, whatever you want to call him. What's on the other side, I have no idea. Some may know Neeel from his drumming in Fat Worm of Error, or as the dude who runs Yeay! Suchfun Cassettes, or maybe you just know him as being an awesome dude, but if you don't, there's a reason all those things were hyperlinked. LEARN YOURSELF!
The record is being released by Ormolycka, formerly a specialty store (I think) somewhere in Scandinavia, now a label somewhere in California that makes wacky objects like one-sided LPs. It will be printed in an edition of 500, featuring the art of 10 different artists on 50 covers each with names like Matthew Thurber, Abby Banks, Mt. Emult, Crystal Reagan, Mark Beyer, and myself. Collect 'em all!

In June 2008 at MoCCA art festival, Eamon Espey and I will be premiering our respective books published by Secret Acres, and to quote Leon Avelino, we "may or may not fight to the death".

(Really though, Eamon is a terrible sweetheart).

Okay, I am terrible at keeping a real website, so it was just a matter of time before I started one of these. I will keep up with all media I produce here. I'll start with a few reruns, and then only the new stuff.
If you didn't already know, I am in the greatest rock band on the Earth, Stonewall Jackson. We just played an amazing show at Mystery Train Records in Amherst, MA. This was all thanks to the inimitable George W. Myers, proprietor of Breaking World Records, seriously my new favorite record label. Everything this dude puts out is gold. Ben Hersey opened with this great performance that involved him kissing a hot light bulb, which really made me squirm.
I don't know what else I can say about this, it was amazing, I ate delicious pizza from Antonio's and got some great CDs at reasonable prices. SWJ definitely played a great set, and we were the only band that night that involved drinking the blood of other members.

Anyway, our new (and first) self-titled CD is now out, and will be mailed out to various folks and stores in the near future. We are also planning a national tour this summer, possibly with various Western MA folks, possibly with epic metal dudes, Witch Hat. Who knows how it'll work out, but it is guaranteed to be awesome.
